1 Corinthians 1:18 - 20

I know very well how foolish the message of the Cross sounds to those who are on the road to destruction. But we who are being saved recognize this message as the very power of God. As the Scriptures say

"I will destroy human wisdom
and discard their most brilliant ideas"

So where does this leave the philosophers, the scholars and the worlds brilliant debaters? God has made them all look foolish and has shown their wisdom to be foolish nonsense.

Next time we go thinking how smart we are remember this. Next time we go linking to brilliance remember this.

I'm just wondering. How can you with a good conscience accept the steps when they were written while Bill Wilson was in a trance and recieved them from familliar spirits??? Satan does come as an angel of light. How can anyone say that the steps are biblical when they clearly come from a demonic source. The bible says .Woe unto you who call evil good.I would really like you to explain to me how using the steps can be justified.

Thanks Carol!

Michelle, I am not going to argue the point. My latest post is for you. If you find harm in the steps I'm sorry. The steps are a process. A Structure. The real wisdom is in Christ. That is the bottom. The steps are a way for folks work out of their sin. As far as Bill W recieving the steps while in a trance? I just don't believe that. And even so. he was a drunk... lol I have known many people who came to know Christ through other 12 step progams, I don't think satan wanted that.

The scriptures for steps 8,9,10 are vague at best.I reccomend that you read his biography, him and his wife held regular seaunces and no he wasnt drunk. This occured after he sobered up.The steps dont always lead to God they have lead to AA which leads to a version of god who doesnt forgive sins,or offer salvation.Satan comes as an angel of light..the steps can be and have been very deceptive by sneaking into churches and leading people to believe that AA is christian and has christian roots.

Saying that Bill wilson is a christian is like calling tolkien a christian...they both were involved in the occult.Tolkein even stated publically that Lord of the rings was no way no how a christian allegory,he said he despised allegory...like BW,christians claim that hes christian so therefor its okay to dabble in the occult and take in whatever they dish out.

Hi Larry. Hope you're doing well. If I lived in a far far away place with four kids and a bunch of animals, I might think I knew how to run your life better than you do. As is, I say you obviously know what works for you. Ignore the naysayer.

I am literally shaking my head as I read the article you linked too.

1. As far as I know I have never thought of Bill W as a christian.
2. I personally don't like AA meetings. Technically NA either since that is where I went before I discovered Celebrate Recovery. I go primarily to witness, to carry the Good News to others in recovery.

Celebrate Recovery gives me the freedom to go to a meeting where other christians struggle with "name your hurt habit and hang-up." There is no smoke, no cussing and we aknowledge that Jesus is the only thing that can save us. By Grace alone!. I have seen God do wondrous things in people's lives since I have been a part of it. Including myself!

I am done arguing this. You are not going to change my mind. Evil is what humans make of it in their sin. I don't believe addiction is a disease, I believe it is sin pure and simple.

We are all sinners some drink, some look at porn, some cuss, disrespect their parents, commit adultery etc. Sin is sin.

You use the internet to communicate. There are all kinds of things on the internet that could be considered evil. In fact I believe it is a greater tool for destruction than drinking or drugging.

You use it though. Does that mean you are wrong or evil? No it means you stay the heck away from the bad stuff.

I wish you the best michellebelle it is very difficult to go through what you are going through, and my prayers are with you.

Colossians 3:1-17
